ABOUT THIS PLACE

Islands of Adventure opened on May 28, 1999. The layout is a ring around a central lagoon, with eight themed islands reached in order: Port of Entry at the gate, then Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Skull Island, Jurassic Park, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Hogsmeade, the Lost Continent and Seuss Landing. Hogsmeade opened on June 18, 2010, covering about twenty acres, and changed the standing of the whole resort; the Hogwarts Express has carried visitors between it and Diagon Alley in the next park since 2014. The coasters are the reason many people come. The Incredible Hulk launches from nothing to 40 miles an hour in two seconds, climbs 110 feet, runs 3,700 feet of track and turns riders over seven times. VelociCoaster opened in Jurassic Park in 2021 and is the fastest coaster Universal operates. Seuss Landing at the far side is built for small children, with almost no straight lines anywhere in it
