Your information
Privacy Notice
What 1stFlorida receives, what it counts, what stays on your own device, and what it never does.
Effective September 26, 2026The short version
You can read every page on 1stFlorida without giving your name or email address. The site does not use cookies to follow you, and 1stFlorida does not sell your information or give it to advertisers.
What you send us
When you fill in a form, we receive what you type in it. The contact form and a Claim Your County request send your name, email address, telephone number if you give one, the county and service, and your message. A request for a worksheet, guide or checklist by email sends your name and email address, the address of the page you sent it from, and the Local Help county and services you picked, if you picked any. Emailing yourself your My Florida Plan sends your name, email address and the counties, services and choices in your plan. The resident survey sends your answers, and your email address only if you choose to give it. What you send is kept in the site’s own records, which only the owner of 1stFlorida can open. Contact form messages and Claim Your County requests are also emailed to him so he can answer you.
How we use it
To answer you, to send you what you asked for, and to run the Local Help program. When you contact an advertiser, you do it on the advertiser’s own website, telephone or email, not through us.
What we count, without knowing who you are
The site counts visits so we can see which counties and pages people read, how far people get with My Florida Plan, and how many people call or visit each advertiser and hotel. It records the page, the county and the service, and a random code your browser makes for each open tab and forgets when the tab is closed. It does not record your name, your email address or your internet address, and it uses no cookies.
What stays on your own device
Your My Florida Plan, the relocation checklist, the moving worksheet and the budget and cost worksheets are saved in your own browser, so they are still there when you come back. The Local Help county and services you pick on a page are kept there too, so the sheet you print from that page carries them; they start fresh on the next page. Apart from the counting described above, none of this is sent to 1stFlorida unless you fill in one of the forms. For the open tab only, the site also remembers how far down each page you were and the services you pressed on it, so the Back button returns you to the same spot. Clearing your browser’s saved data for this site removes all of it.
Ask 1stFlorida
Ask 1stFlorida answers from the information on this site. Your question is not sent to any outside service. When Ask cannot fully answer a question, it keeps the question so we can write a better answer, with any telephone number or email address in it taken out. Questions it answers are not kept. Please do not type private details such as account numbers or medical information.
Companies that help run the site
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles each visit, including your internet address, to deliver the pages and protect the site. To stop floods of automated requests, the site itself holds your internet address for about a minute and does not store it. Emails are sent through Resend. The pages that show an advertiser’s premium presentation load their lettering from Google Fonts, so your browser fetches it from Google. Links to maps, advertisers and other websites take you to those sites, which have privacy notices of their own.
How long we keep it, and your choices
We keep requests and messages while we need them to answer you and for our business records. To see, correct or delete what you sent us, use the contact form and choose “Asking a general question.” Information may also be kept or shared when the law requires it or to protect the site from misuse.
