Which Florida counties have the highest and lowest incomes?

St. Johns County has the highest median household income in Florida, $109,839 a year against $74,568 statewide.

That is by the Census Bureau's latest five-year figures; St. Johns lies between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. Next come Santa Rosa, east of Pensacola, at $91,922; Collier, around Naples, at $90,045; Nassau, north of Jacksonville, at $89,804; and Clay, southwest of Jacksonville, at $87,820. The lowest are rural counties: Glades, on the west side of Lake Okeechobee, at $45,870; Putnam, around Palatka, at $47,934; Madison, east of Tallahassee, at $48,485; Gadsden, west of Tallahassee, at $48,801; and Taylor, on the Big Bend, at $49,073. A median is the middle household, with half earning more and half less, so it says nothing about any one neighborhood. Every county guide carries its own figure.
