FLORIDA PLACE TO EXPLORE
K1 Speed Orlando
Orange County · Central Florida
An indoor electric karting track off International Drive that takes walk-ins, with karts reaching 45 miles an hour.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
K1 Speed sits at 5228 Vanguard Street, just off the International Drive corridor, and runs an indoor track under a roof, which means racing carries on through summer storms and August heat without a break. The karts are all electric. They put out full torque the moment the pedal goes down and reach about 45 miles an hour, which feels considerably faster a few inches off concrete than it sounds. Three kinds run here: Bambino karts for children aged three to seven, junior karts, and adult karts. The model is arrive and drive, so no reservation is needed for an individual or a small group; helmets, head socks and a briefing are provided, and a race is booked and run within the hour. Junior races do not run after eight in the evening on Friday and Saturday. Beyond the track there is an arcade of more than fifty games, the Paddock Lounge with food and a full bar, and three meeting rooms for private events. It opens at noon on weekdays and ten on weekends
