FLORIDA PLACE TO EXPLORE
Crayola Experience Orlando
Orange County · Central Florida
A 70,000-square-foot hands-on color attraction inside The Florida Mall, with twenty-five activities aimed at children.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
Crayola opened this location at The Florida Mall in the summer of 2015, one of a small number the company runs in the country. It takes up about 70,000 square feet on two levels and holds twenty-five hands-on activities, all of them things a child does rather than looks at. Visitors watch crayons being made and can name and wrap one of their own to take home. A machine turns a photograph into a coloring page and prints it. There is a melted-wax spin art station, a modeling compound area, drip art, a playground, and a live show explaining how the color gets into the wax. A large retail section sells products made only for these locations. It is indoors and air conditioned, which makes it a reasonable option on a wet afternoon or a day too hot for a theme park line, and the mall around it has parking, food and everything else a family needs. It works for children roughly three to ten, and it is a couple of hours rather than a day
