THEME PARK & ENTERTAINMENT
Fun Spot America Orlando
Orange County · Central Florida
A 14-acre family park on International Drive with four multi-level go-kart tracks and the only wooden coaster in Orlando.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
The business goes back to 1979, when Fun N Wheels opened near International Drive on about three acres. The present park reopened on December 24, 1997, as Fun Spot Action Park and took its current name later. It covers roughly 14 acres near Universal Orlando and is owned and run by the Arie family rather than a corporation. The go-karts are the reason it exists. Four tracks, Conquest, Commander, Quad Helix and Thrasher, use the company's own patented multi-level design with three stacked levels, so the karts run over and under each other. Three coasters operate alongside them. White Lightning is a wooden out-and-back and the only wooden coaster in Orlando. Freedom Flyer is a suspended family coaster. Sea Serpent is a smaller family coaster brought in from another park. There is also a SkyCoaster, among the tallest anywhere, and a 102-foot Ferris wheel. The park runs all year and has drawn around half a million visitors annually. It is a useful counterweight to the big parks for families who want an afternoon rather than a campaign
