MUSEUM & CULTURE
FSU Museum of Fine Arts
Leon County · Panhandle & Emerald Coast
The university art museum, in room 250 of the Fine Arts Building at 530 West Call Street, free to everyone.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
It is a teaching museum, which shapes what goes on the walls. Exhibitions run to historical and contemporary art both, and a good part of the year is given over to showing the work of the university's own students and faculty, so the building changes completely from one visit to the next. For a town the size of Tallahassee that turnover is worth knowing about: this is where new work appears first. Admission is free and always has been, and there is no charge for the exhibitions or the public events that go with them. Opening hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from ten until five, Thursday from ten until eight, Friday from ten until five and Saturday from ten until four, closed Sunday and Monday, with changes during university holidays. Parking is free in the Call Street Garage on Thursday evenings after five and on Saturdays, and holders of disabled permits park free on level two all year. There is elevator access throughout
