An Odditorium on Front Beach Road holding hundreds of artifacts, games and the stories behind them.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
Ripley's Believe It or Not! runs an Odditorium on Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach. Its own page describes it as an attraction of hundreds of unbelievable but true artifacts, together with interactive games and the stories behind the objects. It stands in the cluster of indoor attractions alongside Coconut Creek and WonderWorks, which is worth knowing on a wet day, because that short stretch of road is where most of the under-cover things to do in this town are concentrated. The collection runs to more than six hundred pieces across dozens of galleries, gathered originally by Robert Ripley, who went around the world looking for them. A genuine shrunken head is there, along with a Fiji mermaid, a matchstick oil rig, a taxidermy miniature horse and a room of optical illusions. A Titanic gallery of two thousand square feet holds coal recovered from the wreck and a scale model of the ship built from matchsticks. The pop art room has a portrait of Jimi Hendrix made from guitar picks, a Mona Lisa made of jelly beans and a John F. Kennedy assembled from computer keys. Doors open at ten every morning
