Canova Beach Park
Brevard County · Atlantic Coast
The Brevard beach where dogs are actually allowed on the sand - leashed, tagged and free of charge, with bags and trash cans provided.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
Canova Beach Park is a 9.1-acre county park at Indian Harbour Beach, and it is the beach in this county where a dog can go on the sand. Dogs need to be leashed and wearing current license and vaccination tags, and owners are expected to clean up after them, but there is no charge to use the dog beach and waste bags and trash cans are provided. Three dune crossovers reach the water, one of them ADA accessible, with benches set along the crossover. There is a small pavilion with a grill, restrooms, a drinking fountain, outside showers, surf fishing and free parking. The address is 3299 Highway A1A, Indian Harbour Beach, and the county parks number is 321-255-4400. At nine and a tenth acres this is a community park rather than a regional one, and because it is the only county beach in Brevard where dogs are allowed on the sand, it fills quickly on weekends when owners from three towns arrive at once. There is no admission charge at any time
