The state's FloridaHealthFinder.gov site lets you search for urgent care centers by city, ZIP code or county, and see any legal actions against each one.
The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration created FloridaHealthFinder.gov to give people easy access to health care information, and the site lists Florida health care facilities. The agency's phone number is 888-419-3456, and that is also the line for complaints about a health care facility the agency licenses or regulates. Florida Relay is the phone link for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or speech impaired: dial 711, or 800-955-8771 from a TTY.
To find urgent care, open the facility search in the Locate section of the site's front page. The search form has a field marked Urgent Care Center. Mark it, then enter a city, ZIP code or county. If you leave the facility type set to All, the form also needs a name, city, ZIP code, county, license number or field office. The list of facility types also includes Health Care Clinic, and you can narrow a search by license status, such as active. A facility's profile shows its information, its services and any legal actions against it. The site notes that a legal action may have been issued to a prior owner.
A second tool on the site, the proximity search, finds facilities near a street address. You enter the address, city, state and ZIP code, choose a type such as Hospital, and pick a distance from 1,000 feet out to 100 miles. That is a quick way to find the hospitals closest to a new home.
