How do I find a doctor in Florida who takes Medicare?

Start with Medicare's Care Compare, the federal search of doctors and other clinicians enrolled in Medicare.

You can search and compare them near your new address, and a listing can show the hospitals and other places the clinician is affiliated with, whether they offer telehealth, star ratings on some quality measures, and procedure counts for 19 common procedures. With Original Medicare you can see any doctor who takes Medicare, anywhere in the U.S.; with a Medicare Advantage plan, in many cases only the doctors in the plan's network, so check the plan's own list as well. Call the office before you count on a doctor and ask whether it is taking new Medicare patients. Before the first visit you can look up any Florida doctor's license on the Florida Department of Health's license verification search, by name or license number, along with any discipline or administrative action taken against it.
