Young At Art Museum

ABOUT THIS PLACE

Young At Art is an interactive art museum, and since March 2021 it has been inside the Broward Mall at Plantation, at 8000 West Broward Boulevard. It was in a 24,000 square foot leased building in Davie until September 2020, when Broward County brought that lease to an end. Its stated aim is to enrich the community through artistic, interactive experiences for all ages that inspire creativity and encourage an understanding of the world. The exhibition named on its own site is Creative Cathy's Art House, a hands-on maker space where children can tinker, build and explore without fear of getting it wrong. Alongside the galleries it runs classes, camps, art workshops, birthday parties and outreach. It opens Wednesday to Sunday, eleven in the morning until six. Moving into a shopping mall in March 2021 put the museum on one level with covered parking and food close by, which for a place built around small children is a practical improvement on a standalone building. The program of classes and camps runs through the school holidays, and the outreach work takes the museum out into schools rather than waiting for schools to come to it
