Palm Beach Municipal Beach
Palm Beach County · South Florida & the Keys
One of only two beaches the town guards, with lifeguards every day of the year and meters that run to midnight.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
Mid-Town is the Town of Palm Beach's main public beach, covered by the Palm Beach Fire Rescue Ocean Rescue unit with lifeguards on duty seven days a week, 365 days a year. The town fronts more than twelve miles of Atlantic beach but guards only two stretches of it, this one and Phipps Ocean Park, and much of the rest runs past private property, so the guarded sand is where a visitor is meant to go. Parking is the thing that catches people out: there is no free visitor parking anywhere in town, spaces run on ParkMobile rather than coins, and the Midtown street meters stay live until midnight instead of stopping at dusk. A recorded beach report on 561-835-4693 is updated each morning with the day's conditions. Anyone unwilling to feed a meter has an alternative at the southern end of the town: R. G. Kreusler Park is a county beach on South Ocean Boulevard next to the Lake Worth Casino, guarded, with its own parking at two dollars an hour and shops and restaurants within walking distance of the sand
