Sanibel Lighthouse Beach

Lighthouse Beach Park at the east tip of Sanibel, 110 and 153 Periwinkle Way, run by the City of Sanibel. The Sanibel Island Lighthouse stands in the park, a cast-iron tower first lit in 1884; it is not open for tours. The Gulf side is for swimming and shelling, San Carlos Bay on the other side is for kayaks and paddleboards, and a boardwalk and nature trail wind through the mangroves for birding. The fishing pier is closed until further notice. Restrooms, outdoor showers, drinking fountains, picnic areas with grills, and mobi-mats. Open 24 hours. 162 parking spaces, two of them for RVs, at $5 an hour, charged at all hours through a phone app; handicapped permits park free.
