WATER & COAST
Blind Pass Beach
Lee County · Gulf Coast
Blind Pass Beach Park, 6497 Sanibel Captiva Road, at the northwest tip of Sanibel where the island meets Captiva across Blind Pass. The City of Sanibel runs it. The fast tides between the islands keep bringing shells in, which makes it one of the best shelling spots on Sanibel, and people fish from the shore and near the jetty for snook and redfish. NO SWIMMING: the current in the pass is dangerous. Open 24 hours. 29 parking spaces at $5 an hour, charged at all hours through a phone app; handicapped permits park free. Mobi-mats and bike racks; the nearest restrooms are across the bridge at Turner Beach Park. Hurricane recovery is still going on, so watch for buried debris.
