Gulfside City Park Beach

Lee County · Gulf Coast

Gulfside City Beach Park, also called Algiers Beach, at 2001 Algiers Lane on Sanibel, run by the City of Sanibel. Soft sand slopes gently into the Gulf, which suits children, and it is quieter than the island's busier beaches: swimming, picnicking and shelling. Shorebirds, pelicans, osprey, dolphins and sea turtles are seen here. Restrooms, outdoor showers, drinking fountains, picnic areas with grills and a shaded pavilion. Open 24 hours. 46 parking spaces at $5 an hour, charged at all hours through a phone app; handicapped permits park free. Hurricane recovery is still going on, so watch for buried debris.
