Stump Pass Beach State Park

Charlotte County · Gulf Coast

A mile of white sand at the south end of Manasota Key, in the southwest corner of the county. Shells and shark teeth wash up here and winter is the best time to look for them. Manatees, gopher tortoises, snowy egrets, least terns and frigate birds are all seen here, and the mangroves are reached from the water. Restrooms, showers, picnic areas and a canoe and kayak launch. The pavilion has been closed since September 2025. Open 8 a.m. to sunset, 365 days a year, $3 a vehicle.
