Where can you fish from a pier in Florida?

Public fishing piers save you a boat and a license in most cases, because a pier usually holds a blanket license that covers everyone on it.

On the Atlantic: Jacksonville Beach Pier in Duval County, the Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier in Brevard, Juno Beach Pier in Palm Beach County, and the George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier State Park in Nassau County, which is a whole former road bridge given over to fishing. On the Gulf: the Okaloosa Island Pier in Destin, Russell Fields City Pier and the M B Miller County Pier in Bay County, and the St Pete Pier in Pinellas. Three are closed while they are rebuilt: the Flagler Beach Municipal Pier, expected to open in February 2027; Naples Pier in Collier County, where the work began in January 2026 and is expected to take about 18 months; and the Anna Maria City Pier in Manatee County, expected to reopen in the fall of 2026.

Where do you go deep sea fishing in Florida?

Where the charter fleets are. On the Panhandle, Destin in Okaloosa County has one of the largest charter fleets in the country because the hundred-fathom curve comes closer to shore there than anywhere else in the Gulf, with Panama City in Bay County and Pensacola in Escambia close behind for red snapper and grouper.

Where is the tarpon fishing in Florida?

Boca Grande Pass, between Gasparilla Island in Lee County and Charlotte County to the north, is the name everyone knows - the fish stack up in the deep pass in May and June and the boats work it shoulder to shoulder.
