Children's Museum of the Treasure Coast

Martin County · Atlantic Coast

A hands-on children's museum at 1707 Northeast Indian River Drive, Jensen Beach, beside Indian Riverside Park.

ABOUT THIS PLACE

Everything here is meant to be touched, climbed on or taken apart, and the exhibits are built around Florida rather than being generic: the things children handle are drawn from the coast, the lagoon and the working life of this part of the state. The museum runs educational programs and outreach into local schools, summer camps, birthday parties and seasonal events including a trick or treat stroll in the fall. It is open Tuesday to Friday from nine in the morning until four, Saturday from ten until four and Sunday from midday until four, closed Mondays, with extended twilight hours on Thursday until six. It closes when local schools close for weather and during active weather warnings, which on this coast is worth checking in hurricane season. Indian Riverside Park next door gives a playground, shade and the lagoon shore, so the two together make a full morning. The number is 772-225-7575
