Sailfish Splash Waterpark
Martin County · Atlantic Coast
The county water park at 931 Southeast Ruhnke Street, Stuart, open since 2011 and run by Martin County Parks and Recreation.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
The lazy river runs a thousand feet. A four-story slide tower and a separate speed slide of two hundred and fifty-three feet take the older children, and a zero-entry splash playground of seven thousand three hundred and twenty-six square feet handles the younger ones, with jets, sprays and a three hundred gallon bucket that tips over the whole area at intervals. Alongside the play side is serious water: a fifty meter competition pool built to international standard, and a twenty-five yard teaching pool. That competition pool is why the place matters beyond a summer afternoon, because it hosts statewide and high school swimming and diving meets and college winter training, and those events bring money into Stuart out of season. The park employs more than a hundred and thirty-five seasonal staff a year, lifeguards and concession workers, and trains them in resuscitation, first aid and food safety. The Sailfish Splash Aquatics Center shares the site and sells lap swim passes and swimming lessons separately from the water park. Cabanas, funbrellas and clamshells can be booked ahead, and day passes and season passes are sold online. The park runs a season rather than year round and closes at the end of it, so check before driving over in the cooler months. Birthday packages, group rates and summer camps are all offered. The number is 772-320-3100
