MUSEUM & CULTURE
Florida Agricultural Museum
Flagler County · Atlantic Coast
Four hundred and sixty acres of historic farm buildings and rare Florida Cracker cattle, horses and sheep, north of Palm Coast.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
The Florida Agricultural Museum was set up in 1983 by farmers and historians at the request of Doyle Conner, then Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture. It started in Tallahassee and moved to Flagler County in 1997, onto 460 acres at 7900 Old Kings Road North, about 25 minutes from St. Augustine. In 2024 it changed its name to the Florida Agricultural Legacy Learning Center to better describe what it does, though most people locally still call it the ag museum. Historic buildings have been brought here from around the state and repaired with state grant money, and a 1920s dairy barn on the property is used for events and weddings. The livestock is the part that makes the place worth the drive. The museum keeps heritage breeds, including rare Florida Cracker cattle, Cracker horses and sheep, animals descended from Spanish stock that were nearly lost. General tours run Friday through Sunday, horseback riding is offered Tuesday through Sunday, and group tours can be booked any day in advance. It is a private nonprofit run by a board of trustees, and it works on conserving the breeds as well as showing them
