ABOUT THIS PLACE

The National Naval Aviation Museum sits at 1750 Radford Boulevard on Naval Air Station Pensacola and covers the flying done by the Navy, the Marine Corps and the Coast Guard. There are more than 150 restored aircraft and over 4,000 artifacts, along with flight simulators, a large-format theater with showings from 9:30 in the morning, and the Cubi Bar Cafe for lunch. Admission costs nothing. The museum opens seven days a week from 9 to 4 and closes only on major holidays. Getting to it is the part to plan. Because the museum is inside an active naval air station, the base controls who drives in, and those rules have changed more than once. Visitors 18 and over who do not hold a Department of Defense identification card need a REAL ID or a United States passport, and non-Department of Defense visitors go through the Visitor Control Center for a background check and a pass before entering. Reports in 2026 said general public access was limited to weekends while identification card holders could come any day. Check the museum's own page before driving out. A clear bag rule applies, backpacks are not allowed, and Blue Angels practice can be watched from the flight line behind the museum on scheduled mornings
