Water Taxi Fort Lauderdale

Broward County · South Florida & the Keys

Twenty-three stops on three routes, running seven days a week from ten in the morning until ten at night.

ABOUT THIS PLACE

The Water Taxi is a boat service rather than a sightseeing cruise, and for a good part of Fort Lauderdale it is a real way of getting about. Its own stop list names twenty-three landings across three routes. The Fort Lauderdale route takes in the Riverside Hotel, Las Olas Boulevard and Fort Lauderdale Beach. A Pompano Beach route serves Shooters Waterfront and the Pier. A Hollywood route runs to the Margaritaville resort and the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk. Boats operate seven days a week, rain or shine, from ten in the morning until ten at night. Fort Lauderdale is built around canals and a river rather than only around roads, which is why a boat service works here and would not work in most cities. Running until ten at night makes it usable for an evening out rather than only for sightseeing, and the three routes together stitch Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach and Hollywood into one line. Passengers see the canals and the houses along them, which cannot be seen from any road
