Everglades Holiday Park
Broward County · South Florida & the Keys
Twenty-nine acres of wetland at the far end of Griffin Road, where the Gator Boys episodes were filmed.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
Everglades Holiday Park has been operating since June 1982, on 29 acres of wetland at the western end of Griffin Road off US 27. The airboat trip is a guided hour, running at 35 to 45 miles an hour, with the captain pointing out alligators and other wildlife along the way. The park is home to the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue, which takes nuisance alligators from the surrounding area and gives them a protected habitat rather than letting them be destroyed, and whose team filmed many episodes of the Animal Planet show Gator Boys here. A renovation in 2022 added new restrooms, picnic areas and public boat ramps. Griffin Road runs west to US 27, the same county boundary the other airboat operators sit on, so the drive from central Broward is short and the change in the landscape at the end of it is complete. Gator Boys took nuisance alligators alive rather than having them destroyed, which is what the television show was built around, and the rescue still operates. The boat ramps put in during that work mean people can arrive on the water rather than by road
