Quiet Waters Park

Broward County · South Florida & the Keys

A county park of 431 acres at Deerfield Beach, at the north end of Broward.

ABOUT THIS PLACE

It is built around water. Ski Rixen is a cable wakeboarding and water ski system, one of seventy-nine of its kind in the world and the only cable wake and ski operation in South Florida: an overhead cable tows the rider around the lake, so there is no boat, no fuel and no wake behind you. Splash Adventure is a children's water playground that runs seasonally. Several lakes are open for fishing and a marina rents boats out. On land there are seven miles of mountain bike trail graded from beginner to expert, which is a rarity in a county this flat and this built up. Woofing Waters is the dog park. The camping is the other thing that sets the place apart: alongside ordinary sites the park rents out tents already pitched, and tepees, so a family can camp a weekend without owning any equipment at all. Broward County Parks runs it. For anyone weighing up the north end of the county, this is a park that gets used all year rather than only in season
