Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Beach

Walton County · Panhandle & Emerald Coast

Three miles of white quartz sand a few minutes from Destin, with Topsail Hill itself standing 25 feet above sea level behind it, shaped like a ship's sail. Rare coastal dune lakes lie between the dunes, holding freshwater fish and drawing the Choctawhatchee beach mouse. A tram carries people out to the sand; its stop moved in January 2025 for construction. Camping in every form: 22 tent sites, 156 RV sites, 16 bungalows and 16 cabins. Restrooms, showers, laundry, picnic pavilions, playgrounds and an amphitheater, with a nature walk and visitor center being built. Open 8 a.m. to sunset, $6 a vehicle. Pets allowed.
