Gulfstream Park Beach
Palm Beach County · South Florida & the Keys
A compact six-acre county beach with 600 feet of guarded sand and a playground built specifically for two- to five-year-olds.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
Gulfstream Park is 6.40 acres with 600 feet of guarded beach. Its playground is built for children aged two to five rather than the wider range most county parks provide for, which makes it a better fit for very young families than for older children. Parking, restrooms and picnic areas with grills complete it. The address is 4489 North Ocean Boulevard, on the strip between Briny Breezes and the town of Gulf Stream. The snorkeling is the other reason people come. There is a shallow ledge in about three feet of water and an artificial reef roughly a hundred and fifty feet out, with the bottom reaching only about twelve feet at the deepest, so it works for snorkeling and not for scuba. Divers report damselfish, parrotfish, doctorfish, barracuda, sea turtles, the occasional lobster and a resident nurse shark. The usual entry is about a hundred feet south of the lifeguard tower
