500 Wonderwood Drive. A mile and a half of beach with several ways onto it, and The Poles at its north end, which the city calls the premier surfing spot in northeast Florida. $5 a car for up to six people and $3 on foot or by bicycle, half price for active duty. Open 8:00am to 8:00pm in summer and 8:00am to 6:00pm in winter, with the last entry half an hour before closing. Behind the dune there is a 60-acre lake for fishing and paddling but no swimming, over 20 miles of trails, and camping from $18 a night for a tent. Dogs are allowed in the areas set aside for them, on a leash of eight feet or less.
