ABOUT THIS PLACE
Sidney Fisher Park, which the city itself spells without the c, is a ten-acre oceanfront park in Cocoa Beach, twice the size of Alan Shepard Park to the north. It has roughly 200 parking spaces, picnic pavilions and a playground, and the city describes it as a family favorite. It is one of the two city-operated oceanfront parks in Cocoa Beach, the other being Alan Shepard Park. It is named for Sidney Fischer, mayor of Cocoa Beach from 1956 to 1960, and it stands in the 2100 block of State Road A1A. The showers and restrooms have been rebuilt recently. Parking is five dollars a vehicle; buses are not admitted, the park closes at dusk and nothing may be left overnight. A lifeguard tower is staffed in season.
