Florida has three kinds of places to gamble. The Seminole Tribe and the Miccosukee Tribe run casinos on their own land.
The state licenses poker rooms at horse tracks, jai alai frontons and old dog tracks. And slot machines outside the tribal casinos are legal at only eight of those state-licensed places, all in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Dog racing ended with Amendment 13 on the 2018 ballot: since January 1, 2021, no one licensed for gambling or pari-mutuel betting may race dogs for bets in Florida, and no one in Florida may bet on a live dog race held here. The old dog tracks still hold state permits, and 15 of them still have a poker room. The Gaming Control Commission lists them as no live racing, intertrack and simulcast only: under state law they may take bets on races broadcast from other tracks, in Florida and in other states, so ask the place what it is showing before you go. The poker rooms and slot machines below are the ones the state's Gaming Control Commission licensed for July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.
In Brevard County, the poker room is Club 52 Poker at 1100 North Wickham Road in Melbourne, the old Melbourne dog track; its state license is in the name of Melbourne Greyhound Park. Victory Casino Cruises sails a casino ship with slot machines and table games from Port Canaveral, but in October 2026 its own website said the ship was in dry dock and gave no date to sail again, so look there before you go.
In Broward County, the Seminole Tribe runs Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood and Seminole Classic Casino, both in Hollywood, and Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. Four state-licensed places there have slot machines: The Big Easy Casino in Hallandale Beach, an old dog track, with a poker room; The Casino @ Dania Beach, with a poker room and live jai alai; Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino in Hallandale Beach, with live thoroughbred racing; and Harrah's Pompano Beach, at Pompano Park, the old harness track, with a poker room. In Miami-Dade County, the Miccosukee Casino & Resort on Southwest 177th Avenue in Miami has bingo, a poker room and slot machines, and four more state-licensed places have slot machines and poker rooms: Magic City Casino in Miami, an old dog track that still holds jai alai; Casino Miami, at the Miami Jai-Alai fronton; Calder Casino in Miami Gardens; and Hialeah Park Racing & Casino in Hialeah. In Palm Beach County, Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, an old dog track, has a poker room.
In Hillsborough County, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa is in Tampa, Tampa Bay Downs has live thoroughbred racing and a poker room, and TGT Poker & Racebook, at the old Tampa dog track, has a poker room. In Pinellas County, Derby Lane in St. Petersburg, an old dog track, has a poker room, and so do One-Eyed Jack's Poker Room in Sarasota County and Bonita Springs Poker Room in Lee County, both at old dog tracks. The Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee is in Immokalee, in Collier County, and the Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino is on the Brighton Seminole Reservation, just west of Lake Okeechobee. On the Atlantic side, Card House Port St. Lucie in St. Lucie County has a poker room, and in Volusia County so do Daytona Beach Racing and Card Club and Orange City Racing and Card Club, both old dog tracks. In Marion County, OcalaBets in Ocala and Oxford Downs in Summerfield have poker rooms.
In North Florida, bestbet has poker rooms at three old dog tracks: bestbet Jacksonville in Duval County, bestbet Orange Park in Clay County and bestbet St. Augustine in St. Johns County. Creek Entertainment Gretna in Gadsden County and StateLine Bets in Jennings, in Hamilton County, have poker rooms too. In the Panhandle, Pensacola Greyhound Racing in Escambia County and Ebro Card Casino and Racebook in Washington County, both old dog tracks, have poker rooms.
Sports betting is legal in Florida only through the Seminole Tribe, at its casinos or on its Hard Rock Bet app, and only while you are inside Florida; the Gaming Control Commission says a bet placed any other way is most likely illegal. You must be 18 to play in a poker room or bet on a horse race or jai alai, and 21 to play a slot machine or bet on sports. The Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa says you must be 21 to gamble there.

Orlando has the most. Walt Disney World has two, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach; Universal Orlando has Volcano Bay; SeaWorld's is Aquatica Orlando; and LEGOLAND Florida in Winter Haven has a water park beside its theme park.
