You have 30 days from the day you establish residency. Bring originals.
One proof of identity, such as a U.S. birth certificate or a valid U.S. passport or passport card. One proof of your Social Security number, such as the card, a W-2, a pay stub or a 1099. And two different documents showing your Florida home address, such as a deed, mortgage or lease, a utility bill, a homeowner's insurance policy or a Florida voter registration card. If your name has changed since the birth certificate, bring the marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order that links the names; a valid passport in your current name is enough on its own. If you hold a valid license from another state you are given a vision test, and you may not need the written or road test. The state lists different documents for people who are not U.S. citizens, so check that list if it applies to you.
