Every vehicle with four or more wheels registered in Florida must carry at least $10,000 of Personal Injury Protection and $10,000 of Property Damage Liability, and you must show proof of both before the state will register it.
The policy has to come from an agent licensed in Florida, and the coverage has to stay in force without a break, even if the car is not being driven. Bodily injury liability, which pays for injuries you cause to other people, is not required by the state for an ordinary car; taxis must carry it. The minimum is what the law asks, not a recommendation, so price higher limits when you get quotes. If the coverage lapses, the state can suspend your driver license and your plate for up to three years and charge a reinstatement fee of up to $500.

Florida's youngest counties are its two big college towns. Leon County, around Tallahassee, home to Florida State and Florida A&M, and Alachua County, around Gainesville, home to the University of Florida, have a median age of about 32, the lowest in the state by the Census Bureau's latest five-year figures.
Start with the school, because in Florida the address decides it. The state grades its public schools and every school district from A to F each year; for 2025-26, 34 of the 67 districts were graded A, 23 B and 10 C, and none D or F.
