FLORIDA PLACE TO EXPLORE

Daytona Lagoon

Volusia County · Atlantic Coast

The water park and family entertainment center a block off the beach in Daytona Beach.

ABOUT THIS PLACE

It opened as Adventure Landing Daytona in 1998, closed in 2002, and reopened under the present name in March 2005. The water side runs from March through October. Blackbeard's Revenge sends riders down a dark tunnel in an inflatable boat holding one to three people. Poseidon's Pass is a three-tunnel slide for single and double tubes. A four-lane racing slide drops from a tower fifty-five feet high, with a height requirement of forty-two inches. The wave pool holds five hundred thousand gallons and sends a set through every couple of minutes, and Castaway Bay is the lazy river circling the themed area. The dry side is open year round: a multi-level go-kart track upstairs, where drivers have to be fifty-six inches and passengers thirty-six, indoor laser tag, a twenty-five-foot climbing wall on a timer, two intertwined nine-hole mini golf courses, and an arcade with more than 130 games and a redemption counter. It is a rain-day answer as much as a summer one
