Bayshore Live Oak Park
Charlotte County · Gulf Coast
Ten acres of linear waterfront park on Charlotte Harbor, built in 2007, with piers and a kayak launch.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
Bayshore Live Oak Park was built on 10.38 acres in 2007 and runs as a linear park along the edge of Charlotte Harbor, which means the whole of it looks out over water. It is dog friendly. There are fishing piers, a canoe and kayak launch, a new playground, and picnic shelters and tables through the park. The county's own page makes a point of the sunsets from it, which is a fair thing to promise on this shoreline. The address is 23157 Bayshore Road, Port Charlotte, and the park is the focal point of the Charlotte Harbor Historic District, with information nodes set along it describing the periods that shaped this shore. There are two pavilions, one of them with a fireplace, along with barbecue grills and restrooms, and both pavilions can be reserved through the county. The park was paid for out of local sales taxes voted in 1998 and 2002, parks and recreation impact fees, and grants from the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program, the Florida Communities Trust and the Land and Water Conservation Fund. The park number is 941-627-1628
