Vehicles are allowed on the sand at marked ramps. From May 1 to October 31 they may be on the beach between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. or sundown, whichever is earlier; from November 1 to April 30 it is sunrise to sunset, tides permitting. Parking on the sand is east of the posts and no vehicle may cross the conservation zone markers. Sun Splash Park on South Atlantic Avenue has a freshwater splash pad open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., playgrounds, picnic pavilions, restrooms, showers, 162 parking spaces and over 600 feet of beachfront, and the county lifeguard headquarters is on the same site.
