Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach
Monroe County · South Florida & the Keys
Florida's southernmost state park beach, open 8 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year, for $6 a vehicle plus 50 cents a head. Sand and pebbles over a rocky bottom, so water shoes help, and the shipping channel alongside keeps the water clear. Some of the best snorkeling from a beach anywhere in the Keys, with gear for rent on the sand. No lifeguards. Free beach wheelchairs, two showers, restrooms and a cafe open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Civil War fort behind it closes at five.
