WATER & COAST

Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Beach

Broward County · South Florida & the Keys

Two and a half miles of sand with a living coral reef inside 100 yards of it, which is why divers and snorkelers come here from across the state. Seven beach portals open off El Mar Drive, each named for a townsperson and fitted with showers, benches and chairs: Pine Avenue, Washingtonia, El Prado, the Beach Pavilion and Ocean Plaza, Datura, Hibiscus and Palm. Datura has a wooden bench for divers to gear up on. El Prado Park and Washingtonia Park both sit on the ocean.
