A mile of guarded sand with nine lifeguard towers, worked 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the year by a crew certified by the United States Lifesaving Association. The Clean Beaches Council has given it Blue Wave status for water quality, beach conditions, safety and habitat. Surfing is allowed north of the pier and south of tower 7, and the volleyball courts and recreation areas are on the north side of the pier. No dogs and no alcohol. Conditions are on 954-480-4413.
