Are there haunted places to stay in Florida?

Yes, if you mean places with ghost stories. The Where to Stay page lists inns and hotels around Florida that have ghost stories told about them.

They are told here as stories, by the places, their towns, guests and ghost tours, and 1stFlorida does not claim that any of them is haunted.

Hotel Cassadaga sits in a Spiritualist community established in 1894 and says it is home to many friendly spirits. A story told about it says a man named Arthur lived in Room 22 in the 1930s and liked gin and a good cigar.

In St. Augustine, the St. Francis Inn dates from 1791. It tells the story of a young man, living with his uncle, who fell in love with Lily, and the room where strange happenings were reported is now named Lily's Room. The Casablanca Inn on the Bay tells of the widow who ran it, who let rum runners sell liquor there and climbed to the roof at night with a lantern to warn their boats. People across the bay report a light shining atop the inn at night.

The Island Hotel in Cedar Key has its own ghost page. It tells of a soldier in a Southern uniform seen at the balcony doors at sunrise, and of Bessie, who is said to move the furniture and pictures in her old room, Room 29.

The Florida House Inn in Fernandina Beach was probably built between 1857 and 1859. Its own history tells of Annie Leddy, who ran it from 1873 until she died in 1908, and of two ghosts, a maid and a man in a military jacket.

The legend of the Don CeSar in St. Pete Beach says the builder made the hotel for a lost love, an opera singer named Lucinda. In 2008 a Tampa Bay Times reporter went looking for Lucinda in opera histories and old reviews, found no singer by that name, and followed the trail back to the hotel's own marketing office. At La Concha Hotel in Key West, a ghost tour company tells of cold spots and an elevator that stops on the fifth floor with no one in it.

Some of these places do not tell the stories themselves. Hotel Cassadaga's own page speaks of friendly spirits but does not name Arthur, La Concha's own page tells no ghost story, and News4Jax reported in 2021 that there is no historical documentation about the St. Francis Inn's Lily.

Where to Stay also tells the stories of the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Marrero's Guest Mansion and The Artist House in Key West, and The Gibson Inn in Apalachicola. On that page, pick "See all haunted places to stay" in the haunted places box for each place's story and a link to its own website.
