FLORIDA PLACE TO EXPLORE

The Villages Town Squares

Sumter County · Central Florida

Three open-air squares anchor The Villages, and all three are open to anyone who cares to walk in.

ABOUT THIS PLACE

Spanish Springs Town Square at 1120 Main Street is the oldest of the three. Its outdoor stage carries free live music every night of the year, and the square itself stays open from eight in the morning until ten at night. Around it sit restaurants, shops, and the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center, which brings in touring shows and concerts. Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood Paddock Square are the other two, each built to a different theme and each with its own nightly music and its own ring of storefronts. Golf carts are the usual way residents arrive, and the squares have cart parking alongside car parking. Visitors who do not live here are welcome; there is no gate and no ticket for the squares or the music. The squares are where the community holds its holiday events, car shows and seasonal markets, and they are the reason many people who are considering a move to this part of Florida come to look first. Spanish Springs sits in Sumter County near the junction of County Road 466 and US Highway 441
