WATER & COAST

Three Rivers State Park

Jackson County · Panhandle & Emerald Coast

A park on the shore of Lake Seminole at 7908 Three Rivers Park Road, Sneads, close to the Georgia line.

ABOUT THIS PLACE

It was established in 1955 and takes its name from the water around it: the Chattahoochee and the Flint come down out of Georgia and meet here, and the Apalachicola leaves the lake on its way to the Gulf. That confluence is the reason the place exists at all, and it is why the fishing has the reputation it does. A pier a hundred feet long runs out over the lake. Forest trails cross mixed pine and hardwood behind it, which in the fall gives this park something most of Florida does not have, a genuine change of color in the leaves. There are campsites and a cabin, a boat launch, picnic areas and pavilions. Boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking and picnicking are all provided for. Sneads is a small town and the park is the reason most visitors come through it, so book the cabin well ahead in the fall
