Riverside Arts Market

Duval County · North Florida & First Coast

A Saturday market under the Fuller Warren Bridge on the St. Johns River, running every week of the year since 2009.

ABOUT THIS PLACE

The Riverside Arts Market opened in spring 2009 and has run every Saturday since, from 10 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon, rain or shine. It is held at 715 Riverside Avenue, underneath the Fuller Warren Bridge beside the St. Johns River, which means the whole market is in the shade and stays dry. Riverside Avondale Preservation, a nonprofit founded by Wayne Wood, a Jacksonville activist and retired optometrist, runs it. Since 2016 it has been a producer-only market, so the person selling the produce is the person who grew it. Stalls carry local fruit and vegetables, flowers, handmade art, soap and street food. There is a 350-person amphitheater on the site, the Northbank Riverwalk Artists' Square, used for live music, dance and guest speakers, and morning yoga classes run before the stalls get busy. The market is the end point of the Northbank Riverwalk, so people walk in along the river. More than 4,000 people come through in a typical week. Parking is free in the neighboring office building lot and on the surrounding streets, and dogs are welcome
