One of the public beaches on Eglin Air Force Base land on Okaloosa Island, on U.S. 98 between John Beasley Park and the Destin bridge. Everyone 16 and over needs an Eglin beach permit and a photo ID. The permit is free, online or at Eglin's Natural Resources Office: you watch a beach video and answer three questions. No dogs and no glass, and stay off the dune plants.
