Round Island Beach Park
Indian River County · Atlantic Coast
A county beach park at 2201 South Highway A1A, about eight miles southeast of downtown Vero Beach.
ABOUT THIS PLACE
State Road A1A divides it from its companion, Round Island Riverside Park, on the lagoon side, and the pair are usually treated as one destination. On the ocean side the beach is wide, with covered pavilions and grills, a playground and restrooms behind it. Sections get roped off during sea turtle nesting season, which runs through the summer. Lifeguards work from ten past nine in the morning until ten to five, every day. Across the road, the riverside park covers 82.8 acres and holds a boardwalk four hundred feet long built for watching manatees, along with nature trails, a fishing pier, an observation tower, two boat ramps, a canoe launch and a pavilion with a grill. There are twenty-eight ordinary parking spaces, two accessible ones and twelve for boat trailers. Both parks are open from seven in the morning until sunset, parking is free and there is no entrance fee
