An undeveloped barrier island reached only by boat. The official Shell Island Ferry runs from St. Andrews State Park between March and Labor Day; you board at the Pier Store and a tram carries you to the marina. Sailings are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from March through September and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. from October through February, weather permitting.
