Ask 1stFlorida

Do cruise ships stop in Key West?

Yes. Key West in Monroe County is a port of call, where ships stop for the day and nobody boards a cruise: they come from Miami, Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, Tampa, Jacksonville and the Caribbean.

They tie up at Mallory Square, which belongs to the city, or at Pier B, which is privately owned, and the city's port operations division runs the port. From Florida, Key West is on the itineraries of Norwegian from Jacksonville and of Margaritaville at Sea from Tampa and Palm Beach, among others.

Where to go from here.

Mallory Square

Monroe County. Commodore David Porter set up an anti-piracy squadron on this ground in 1823. When the pirates were gone the square became the working waterfront: buildings here stored and auctioned the cargo pulled off ships wrecked on the reef, which was the richest business on the island for decades, and the sponge trade and the cigar trade followed.
