What are the laws for strip clubs and adult entertainment in Florida?

Adult clubs are legal in Florida, and the rules are split between the state and the county.

The state sets three. Nobody under 21 may work in an adult entertainment establishment, a law in force since July 1, 2024; a court challenge to it was dropped in May 2025. Nobody under 18 may be admitted to a show with nudity. And no adult entertainment establishment may open within 2,500 feet of a school unless the county or city approves the location. Everything else is set by each county and city: the license, the hours, how far a club must be from homes and churches, and whether alcohol and nudity may be in the same room. The difference is real. Orange County's code allows no nudity where alcohol is sold, closes adult clubs from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m., and keeps new ones 1,500 feet from churches, schools and homes. Broward County's code, which covers its unincorporated areas, allows alcohol and nudity together only in licensed clubs with security staff and ID checks at the door, closes them from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m., and keeps customers four feet from the stage.
