The words you will hearPlain meanings

LinenCloth woven from flax. It lets air through, dries fast and gets softer with washing. It creases, and here that is not a fault.
Sun shirtA light long-sleeved shirt made to block the sun rather than let it through. Cooler than bare arms once the sun is up, and it works wet.
Rash guardA close-fitting stretch top worn in the water, for the sun and for the board. Dries in minutes and does not weigh you down.
Cover-upThe loose thing that goes on over a swimsuit for the walk from the beach to the car or the restaurant.
Quick-dryFabric that sheds water instead of holding it. What a pair of shorts has to be if it is going on a boat or near a pool.
Non-marking soleA soft sole that grips a wet deck and leaves no scuff on it. The only sole a marina wants on its docks.
Heat-press printA design pressed onto the shirt with heat in the shop, one at a time. How a family or a boat gets its shirts the same day.
Cold layerThe cardigan, overshirt or light jacket every Floridian keeps for indoors, because the air conditioning is set for the heat outside.
